Hello, my name is John Gordon. I am the Program Manager of the SCI-HUM Research Initiative at the Scientific Computing & Imaging Institute (SCI) and the Kahlert School of Computing, in collaboration with the College of Humanities, at the University of Utah. I manage and develop joint research projects between SCI and the College of Humanities. In addition, I am an Interdisciplinary Adjunct Professor in the College of Humanities, Kahlert School of Computing, and the David Eccles School of Business.

Military Service: I served 12 years of active duty in the United States Air Force (USAF) and am a Gulf War Veteran.
Education: I have earned several college degrees and certificates in Information Systems (MSIS), Business Analytics (GCBA), English (BA), Computer Science (BS), and Construction Technology (AS). Currently, I am a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Utah in the Department of Writing & Rhetoric Studies. My current research interests include Code Studies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Interdisciplinarity, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Programming Languages, and the History of Computing.
Computing Industry: I have worked in the computing industry for nearly 40 years in a variety of roles, including System Administrator, Programmer, Database Developer, Multi-Media Developer, Software Engineer, Systems Architect, Database Administrator, IT Manager, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Consultant. Over the course of my career, I have worked in local and national government, non-profit and commercial sectors, with Utah-based and out-of-state national and international companies.
